Welcome to the North Brunswick Soccer Club's Kindergarten Program
(Division 7)

SPRING 2014 Opening Day Will Be April 5th.

Our Kindergarten soccer program is designed for children ages 4 - 6.   To accommodate the broad range of skills and sizes at this age, we break the division up into 2 groups.  Division 7B is designed for players between the ages of 4 - 5, who have not previously played organized soccer.  Division 7A is designed for players between 5 - 6 who have played some form of organized soccer or who have size/skills sufficient to be playing with larger more competitive children.

We place the children on teams with Coaches and Assistant Coaches that will be trained by professional trainers.

Tentative Saturday Schedule:

Division 7B players will check in with their coaches and receive training from 10:00 am to 10:30 am by licensed trainers.
Then from 10:30 am to 11:00 am they will have
a half hour of game time in which the teams play against each other in a scrimmage. There are no goalies and we do not keep standings for the Kindergarten teams.

The Coaches and Assistant Coaches will receive training between 10:00 am and 10:30 am.

Division 7A
players will check in with their coaches and receive training from 10:30 am to 11:00 am by licensed trainers.
Then from 11:00 am to 11:30am they will have
a half hour of game time in which the teams play against each other in a scrimmage. There are no goalies and we do not keep standings for the Kindergarten teams.

At this age it is our goal to help teach the kids the fundamentals of soccer with a the primary focus on having fun and making the experience enjoyable for them.  We have found that keeping score and standings tends to change that focus.

Although we do not have on-field participation from the parents, as it tends to distract the kids attention away from the Coaches and Assistant Coaches, we do require that at least one of the parents (or a guardian) be at the games.   We also encourage the parents to positively cheer for their child and team.

Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.  We do not permit physical or verbal abusive behavior from any parent.  Anyone that does not conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a positive  atmosphere will be asked to leave by the coaches and assistant coaches.  If necessary, the coaches will ask for assistance from me or other members of the NBSC Exec Board and we will take appropriate action up to and including dismissal of the parent from the field.

I hope this brief overview has given you some insight into the North Brunswick Soccer Club Kindergarten Program and I look forward to seeing you at the start of our Spring 2014 Season on April 5th at the North Brunswick Community Park, Fields 3, 4 and 5.

Thank you,
